Monkstadt no 7 – Flora’s Secret is situated at the end of a quiet Skye road with panoramic sea views towards the island’s west and the Outer Hebrides.
This building was used as steadings by Monkstadt 1745- Luxury Lodge, which was once the seat of the Clan MacDonald with solid links to Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Flora’s Secret was redeveloped using the original stonework and still features a raised circular horse walk which provided the power for the granary mill. The mill provided all the grain for the island’s whole population at one time.
Stay
Flora’s Secret is a traditional stone-built cottage restored to an exceptionally high standard. It features one king-sized en-suite bedroom, a twin and single bedroom, a family bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen/dining area, and a comfortable living room with a lovely wood-burning stove. There is free parking, wi-fi, and access to the laundry at Monkstadt Steadings.
